About WCI

Computational Intelligence (CI) is a rapidly expanding research field, attracting a large number of scientists, engineers and practitioners working in areas such as fuzzy systems, neural networks, machine learning and evolutionary computation. Also, a growing number of companies are employing CI techniques to improve previous solutions and to deal with new problems.

The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for the academic community and industry to share ideas about developing new techniques and applications using CI technique-based systems and exchange views.

Another goal of the WCI is to promote a wider participation of graduate students in the event with ongoing work in the area of CI.

 Topics of Interest

WCI welcomes research work in all Computational Intelligence (CI) topics. They include but are not limited to:

  • Evolutionary Computation

  • Fuzzy Systems

  • Machine Learning

  • Neural Networks

  • Applications:
    - Aerospace systems
    - Bioinformatics
    - Industrial and mobile robotics

 Paper Submission and Review

Papers can be written in English or in Portuguese and must not be longer than  6 pages, including all tables, figures, and references (style of the IEEE Computer Society Press). Formatting instructions, as well as templates for Word and LaTeX, can be downloaded here:  tex template (zip file)  and Word Template (zip file)

All papers received will be cross-reviewed by at least two referees in the topical area.

Submissions violating the formatting guidelines will be excluded from the reviewing process.

Papers must be submitted using the JEMS system: https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/wci2010

Only papers in pdf format will be accepted.

*Obligation to present in case of acceptance.*

By submitting papers to WCI 2010, the authors agree that in case of acceptance at least one author registers to the conference and presents the paper. Furthermore, it is the conference policy that at least one of the authors of accepted papers has to register as FULL Registration or Workshop Student Author **before** the deadline for sending the camera-ready paper. Accepted papers without a corresponding author registration **before** the deadline will not be published in the proceedings.
