The Brazilian Symposium on
Artificial Intelligence (SBIA) has been held since 1984, being the main
conference on Artificial Intelligence in Brazil for the presentation of
results of academic research and technology in the area.
According to the decision of the CEIA-SBC, the event, which was annual,
became an international and biennial event after 1996. From this date, the
Program Committee is composed of Brazilian and foreign researchers, and the
Proceedings began to be published in an international publisher (Springer
Verlag).
Particularly in the last editions, the level of acceptance of articles was
very selective, reching less than or equal to 30% of submitted articles.
Similar to the best conferences in the area.
